Climate change presents substantial uncertainty to sustainable development and continues to threaten human lives, ecosystems, and economies. Growing awareness of climate change impacts, vulnerabilities and risks to Canadians parallels growing pressure from federal agencies, public financial institutions, commercial banks, and private sector insurers to ensure that developers of physical assets are adequately integrating climate resilience into planning and projects. However, significant sectoral specific challenges remain for data-sparse cold regions. Climate vulnerability and risk assessments need to be informed by robust data and information that align with the purpose and scale of the assessment.
We provide sectoral impacts and site-specific weather and climate data, tools and information that can help the private and public sectors deal with climate-related decision-making and planning, achieve greater resilience, and improve adaptation and development outcomes.
